Levy Laureano
Hello, my name is Levy!
I am excited to be interning at Desert Village Therapy Center while completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Fox University, where I am pursuing licensure as an LMFT and LPC.
I am passionate about working with children, teens, and families as they navigate life’s challenges, including anxiety, big emotions, behavioral concerns, and transitions at home or school. I have a particular interest in child-centered play therapy and attachment-based work, as I believe play is a child’s natural way of expressing, processing, and making sense of their experiences.
I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating, sometimes even overwhelming, and I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable from the very beginning.
In session, I aim to build an environment where children and families feel truly safe, seen, soothed, and secure—especially in moments that feel overwhelming. My approach is relational, compassionate, and strengths-based, and I enjoy incorporating play, creativity, movement, and even humor to help children feel at ease and engaged in the process.
I also believe that the home is a foundational space for growth, connection, and healing.
Because of this, I place a strong emphasis on attachment and the role secure relationships play in a child’s development. I value partnering closely with parents and caregivers, supporting them in building deeper connection, understanding, and trust within the family.
With a background in working with youth and families, I bring an approachable, grounded, and genuine presence into the therapy space.
As an intern working under close supervision, I am committed to continued growth, learning, and providing thoughtful, intentional care. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients and families as they work toward healing, resilience, and meaningful change.
