Masters Level Intern

Emma Clapick

Hi, I’m Emma!

I’m so excited to be joining Desert Village Therapy Center as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern while completing my Master’s degree at Northern Arizona University.

Before beginning my journey into counseling, I spent several years working in education and program coordination. Those experiences showed me how capable, resilient, and creative children are when they feel safe, supported, and understood. Those experiences continue to shape the way I approach therapy today.

I believe therapy is built on connection.

My goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where children, adolescents, adults, and families feel accepted, supported, and empowered to be themselves. I strive to meet each client with curiosity, compassion, and respect, honoring their unique strengths and experiences.

Play is at the heart of my work with children.

I believe play is a child’s natural language, offering opportunities to express emotions, build confidence, and make sense of the world around them. I also value partnering with parents and caregivers, knowing that growth happens both in and outside of the therapy room.

As an intern working under close supervision, I am committed to continuing to learn and grow so I can provide thoughtful, compassionate care to every client and family I have the privilege of working with.

I can’t wait to meet you and be a part of your journey.
