Julia Peddy

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Hello!

I know finding a therapist can feel daunting and the first steps are often the most difficult. I am so glad you are here and hope I can help you feel more at ease as you venture into therapy. I am honored to have the opportunity to provide therapy services to you or your child and believe I can give you the support to experience optimum health and healing.

Life is full of challenges, and I firmly believe we are not supposed to walk through life alone. We need the so-called village to learn, gain perspective, and thrive and I want to help you with that

My approach in therapy is focused on the connection between us to provide the support you need in a safe, accepting, and understanding environment. I provide strength- based, person-centered services and draw from an eclectic approach in therapy, including attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, play therapy and faith-based counseling if desired.

I assist my clients with learning coping skills, enhancing communication, processing past experiences, exploring patterns, and setting new goals to elevate well-being.

I work with children, teenagers, and adults who experience depression, anxiety, grief, difficulty with emotion regulation, relationship or interpersonal challenges, life transitions, or who have experienced trauma and I welcome clients from all backgrounds. I am passionate about working with people during pregnancy and postpartum to provide support during this life-changing and often challenging time. Maternal mental health is often stigmatized and not talked about enough and I want to create the safe space needed to thrive.

My experience as a therapist has taught me the importance of the collaboration between therapist and client with respect and trust and I hope I can join your journey for a while to help you reach your goals and create the life you want.

I have always been passionate about helping people around me feel heard, advocated for, and supported on their life journeys, which led me to obtain my bachelor's degree in psychology and my master's degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Arizona. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a behavioral health setting and have learned how to individualize treatment to everyone's need through individual and family counseling.

I look forward to working with you. Let's talk!
